Big Crowds Expected At Decatur Celebration (WICS)

It's the yearly "Decatur Celebration," where hundreds of thousands of people are expected to pour in over the weekend. It's free to get in. Carnival rides, live music, and a kid's block will be going all weekend long, making it a great family event.

Organizers told Newschannel 20 that not only is the Decatur celebration a good time for everyone, it's also great for the local economy.

"Everything from tourism dollars coming in, people who are visiting, and while they're here they stop at a store or buy gas," Producer and Director, Lorie Sturgill, said.

Sturgill also told Newschannel 20 that non-profits selling food and drinks at the fair raised more than $100,000 in past years.
