PIATT COUNTY, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — Piatt County Sheriff's Office confirms as of Wednesday, Jeanette Sebens, 33, is in custody after police said she failed to report to jail.
Officials also confirm her 18-month-old child was found safe.
She was first arrested after Illinois State Police were investigating the unlawful distribution of controlled substances, meth and cocaine, in the Piatt County area, which later led to her arrest and two others.
Sebens first plead guilty Jan. 25 in Piatt County Court to unlawful delivery of meth. She was sentenced to 8 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Since her guilty plea, she was granted a delay in the beginning of her prison sentence and was ordered to report back to the Piatt County Jail on Monday, Jan. 28 at 1 p.m.
However, she never reported to the Piatt County Jail.
If convicted on the escape charge, the sentence imposed is mandatory consecutive to the 8 years prison sentence for the drug charge.
We'll bring more information as it becomes available.
