SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — Update:
The Sangamon County Coroner identified the woman killed during a hit and run.
52-year-old Tracey Lewis of Springfield received deadly injuries after she was hit on Walnut and Canedy Friday morning.
Springfield Police said the vehicle that hit Lewis left the scene before they arrived.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

A 52-year-old woman was pronounced deceased at 5:16 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center, according to the Sangamon County Coroner.
Springfield police said the woman had been struck by a car at the intersection of Walnut and Canedy Street in Springfield at 3:31 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers said the vehicle that struck the woman was no longer at the scene. They found the woman down in the middle of the roadway.
The woman was transported to MMC and an autopsy was performed Friday afternoon.
The autopsy revealed the woman's death was due to the injuries she sustained from the accident.
The victim's identity is being withheld at the request of the family, to allow for notification of all relatives.
The Springfield Police Department is still investigating the incident.
