State Official: Illinois to start FY19 $600 million in the hole
Senators on Wednesday asked the governor's office what shape the state is in ahead of Gov. Bruce Rauner's budget address scheduled for next week.
Illinois will start Fiscal Year 2019 about $600 million in the hole.
That number does not including the $8.4 billion the state owes in bill backlogs.
Rauner's office wouldn't give any information on next year's budget, but said they expect revenues to increase a little bit.
Rauner's budget address is Feb. 14.
