Springfield man arrested in counterfeit cash scheme

    A second person has been arrested in connection with counterfeit cash found in Sherman.

    Sherman police say 18-year-old Shance Dalton, of Springfield, was arrested for forgery and several other violations by the Springfield Police Department during a traffic stop in Springfield Sunday night.

    His arrest for forgery comes after an investigation into counterfeit money being used at businesses in Sherman on February 3-4.

    John Steward, 22, was previously arrested in connection with the incidents.

    Sherman police found evidence which identified Dalton after corresponding with the Chatham and Lincoln Police about the fake money.
