Springfield man arrested for threatening family, throwing dog
A Springfield man is facing disorderly conduct and aggravated assault charges after being arrested over the weekend.
The Sangamon County Sheriff's Office said Joshua Robert's wife told police Roberts threw a dog against the wall after he became angry while playing video games and drinking.
He then began threatening his wife and tried to break down the door with a box knife and table after she and her 8-year-old son who locked themselves in a bedroom to call the police.
According to the Sheriff's office, two other children were also in the house at the time.
Roberts has been released from custody after posting bond.
