Springfield city council approves AMC liquor license
The Springfield City Council approved the liquor license for the AMC movie theatre on Dirksen Parkway Tuesday night.
Council created a special category just for movie theatres that do not allow video gaming, regardless of the number of food sales.
That AMC on Dirksen Parkway is currently undergoing a $7 million renovation by the parent company.
So far, it's the only theatre in town to serve alcohol.
The aldermen approved the comprehensive plan amendment on land use. This is regards to the planning and zoning for a 20-year period until 2037. The language says new land use will be “policy-contingent”.
