Sen. Durbin speaks out on curbing gun violence
The atrocities in Las Vegas are bringing the topic of gun control back into the limelight.
Illinois Democratic Senator Dick Durbin spoke on the Senate floor Monday saying something must be done to curb gun violence.
"We serve in the United States Senate," Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Illinois, said. "We're not just casual observers of this violence, we're supposed to pass laws to make American safer... If we have a responsibility to keep our families in America safe, what are we prepared to do?"
But during a White House press briefing Monday the administration kept the focus on the victims.
