Off-duty ISP trooper and woman found fatally shot in car

CHICAGO (KHQA) — An off-duty Illinois State Police trooper and a woman on Monday were found shot to death inside a non-department issued vehicle in Chicago.

Around 1:25 p.m., off-duty Trooper Antonio Alvarez #6747 and Amanda Alvarez, 31, Chicago, were found inside a vehicle in the 11000 block of South Avenue East in Chicago with injuries from gunfire.

Trooper Alvarez, 30, and the woman were both pronounced dead at the scene.Both had been shot in the head, and a gun was found at the scene.

Trooper Alvarez was a three-year veteran of the Illinois State Police, ISP.

ISP did not say if the two were related. No other information was released at this time.
