Wednesday at the Capitol, the Faith Coalition's Restorative Justice Task Force announced their partnership with the Sangamon County Juvenile Detention Center.

Once the teen is out of the detention center they will join the task force to help other teens.

Newschannel 20 spoke one on one with a 15-year-old student who went through the program, he said it's helping him change his life.

"I would really, for real try to change, trying to go to college and be someone,” said Elijah Sims who is part of the Restorative Task Force.

Sims said because of this program he goes to local elementary schools telling his story and teaching younger kids to take the right path.
