Morgan Stanley donates $50K to Central Illinois Foodbank
Morgan Stanley donated $50,000 to the Central Illinois Food Bank Thursday.
The money will go toward more equipment to further the expansion of fresh produce in rural communities.
Isringhausen Imports in Springfield also donated a van that the food bank plans to convert into a refrigerated van.
Their main goal: to get out more and more fresh produce.
"It's really crucial for health and we've noticed with the two health centers that we're distributing to right now that their patients are coming back and they're healthier than they were before we started this program. So we're seeing those results and we're really excited for what this could bring," Community Resources Coordinator Elaina Albrecht said.
The Central Illinois Foodbank serves 21 counties in the area.
