Meredosia Police Chief arrested

    MEREDOSIA, Ill. (KHQA) - The Pike County Sheriff's Department along the Illinois State Police arrested Curtis Williams for the offenses of Domestic Battery and Aggravated Assault Saturday.

    Police responded to the call in the early morning hours on December 8, 2018.

    Williams is currently the Chief of Police for the Village of Meredosia and has been placed on paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation.

    According the the Pike County Sheriff's Department, the arrest was based on an incident that was reported during the early morning hours following a 911 call received by Pike County Dispatch.

    Williams was taken into custody with no further incident.
