Fire shuts down surrounding streets

Multiple fire agencies responded to a large fire in the 3500 block of Lanesville Road Thursday night.

The homeowner told us his family was sitting down for supper when the lights flickered. About five minutes later, his son went to the garage and saw it was on fire.

The homeowner said he lost a few garden tractors and all his tools, he estimates the damage is around $100,000. But is just happy no one was hurt.

Illinois State Police said Old Route 36 and Lanesville Road were temporarily shut down so firefighters could extinguish the fire.
