LITCHFIELD, Ill. (WICS) — The man who was shot by the police on Thursday was pronounced dead at the hospital later that day.

Around 10 a.m. on Thursday, ISP Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and Litchfield Police Department officers responded to a call of a person with a gun.
Shane M. Boston, 41, was located in the Taylorville Community Credit Union parking lot.
Officials say the Boston displayed a firearm and two Litchfield police officers, a Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputy, and an ISP trooper discharged their firearms.
Police say Boston was struck and disarmed, and then taken to the hospital, where he later died.
The investigation is still ongoing.
