Authorities said Casey Wiley, the suspect, is facing preliminary charges of attempted murder, armed robbery and aggravated discharge of a firearm.

Mt. Zion Police executed a search warrant at Wiley's apartment and found more firearms.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested after firing shots at his parents following a high-speed chase at 5 a.m. Friday morning.

The incident began at the Mount Zion home of the man's parents.

Carroll said the man chased the couple after they fled in their car and that their vehicles reached speeds of up to 100 mph (161 kph).

The man crashed in Decatur and began shooting. Carroll says some bullets struck the parents' car. They were not wounded.

The man ran away, but later was arrested.

He faces preliminary charges of attempted murder, vehicular hijacking, aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful possession of body armor and driving under the influence.
