Lutheran high school teacher's resignation letter shocks many

Letter from Teacher

Lutheran high school held a public board meeting Monday, after community members expressed concern over a teacher's public resignation letter.

Monday, Mike Filter, a Lutheran high teacher, for more than 30 years, told the school board he was resigning.

He then sent a letter to school alumni letting them know he was leaving the school due to some leadership differences.

Many people in the community came out to the meeting to voice their concern.

Alderman Kris Theilen, ward 8 says, "I think the board members should be asking the same question, what went wrong. I don't know and I'm not going to ask if there were personnel issues."

The school says they were shocked to receive news that Filter was resigning and they don't know why he made that choice.
