Local church installs Plexiglas between its pews
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — A local church is taking extra measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during in-person worship.
Progressive Church of God in Christ, located at 1625 E Ash St. in Springfield, installed Plexiglas barriers in between its pews.
The church is currently open, but as more precautions are being taken, Progressive Church of God in Christ Pastor Glenn Jackson wants everyone to still be able to go to church while staying safe.
"Everyone is not capable of doing Zoom, so we wanted to say if you are not able to go on Zoom and you are willing to come to the church, we are going to set the stage for you to be able to come here and feel comfortable," Jackson said.
The church has already installed Plexiglas on most of its pews. It plans to have Plexiglas on every pew in the near future.
