7th Annual Latino Unity Day
Wednesday marked the 7th annual Latino Unity Day in Illinois.
Over 250 people across the state came to speak with legislative leaders about issues impacting the Latino community.
Key issues include ensuring equal access to health care for Latinos, and improving education for Latino children.
"Three out of four new entrants into the labor market in the state of Illinois are Latino,” Latino Policy Forum Executive Director Sylvia Puente said. “All of the state's demographic growth is coming from the Latino community, and all of the state's home ownership growth is coming from the Latino community."
The group also got the chance to discuss some of these issues with Governor Bruce Rauner.
