Kmart Corporation is paying more than $1 million for overbilling Medicaid customers for prescriptions.

The retail chain agreed to the settlement in the lawsuit filed by the Illinois and the federal government.

The suit claimed Kmart's pharmacy was charging those on Medicaid higher prices than people paying with cash.

As a result, Kmart received more reimbursements from Medicare and Medicaid than it was entitled to and violated state and federal regulations.
