Kids at St. John's Hospital build their own tool boxes
Carpenter’s Local 207 brightened kids' day at HSHS St. John's Hospital on Thursday.
The kids were taught how to build tool boxes and given their very own tools.
Organizers said starting out the kids were shy, but after a few minutes were excited to participate.
By the end of the event, everyone was filled with hope.
“Anything can be achievable” Carpenters Local 270 President Carl Bimm said. "Some of these kids have never done a project like this before and it gives them the drive that anything is possible if they sit down and take the time, everything will work out."
Organizers said they enjoy giving back to the community, but it's especially important to give back to the kids because they are our future.
