Judge lets suit on Illinois officer's suicide continue
A lawsuit, involving the 2015 suicide of a northern Illinois police officer, is allowed to continue.
The case was filed by three men who were arrested during a manhunt after Joe Gliniewicz's death.
It was later discovered that the Fox Lake officer staged his suicide to hide thefts from a youth program.
The suit names the Village of Fox Lake and argues it did not properly "discipline and supervise" Gliniewicz and other officers which led to the false arrests.
The suit says more than 100 people may have been falsely detained.
