Illinois doctor admits dispensing opioids for money, sex
A northern Illinois doctor has pleaded guilty to illegally giving opioids to patients in exchange for money and sex.
Monday, Dr. Constantino Perales of Peru, Illinois, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.
He pleaded guilty Monday and admitted to giving opioids and other drugs to three patients in exchange for sex between 2011 and 2013.
He also admitted to prescribing drugs to a man from in 2013 knowing he was going to sell the pills illegally.
If convicted Perales faces up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
