How to prepare your vehicle for the winter months
Locals can now start getting their cars prepared for the winter season.
Some things to look out for include:
- Low air pressure and worn tires, which are especially dangerous on wet or snowy roads, as that reduces traction.
- Your battery capacity, which can also be reduced in cold weather. Check battery cables for cracks and breaks.
- Keep a safety kit in your car.
"During when it starts getting cold and especially with the threat of inclement weather coming, you do see an increase of people looking to get their cars looked over," Manager at Firestone Eric Vollbracht said.
Most of this is covered in standard maintenance. So if you're not sure how to do it yourself, a quick trip to the mechanic should do the trick.
