Spirituality was in focus on Easter eve.
The Holy Family Inclusive Catholic Community hosted its Easter vigil mass Saturday night where it celebrated Jesus Christ.
People who joined the catholic faith were baptized.
Although the church is relatively new to the area, the reverend expressed her gratitude to the warm reception.
"People in both places in Jacksonville and in Springfield have been so gracious, and helped us get our wings and find our footing and grow our roots," said Rev. Mary Keldermans.
The Holy Family Inclusive Catholic Community has about 30 members who come out regularly.
Reverand keldermans stresses the community is open to all regardless of personal background.
