RANTOUL, Ill. (WICS/WCCU) — UPDATE:
Rantoul police officers were dispatched to the area of Bel Place and Bel Air Drive for a report of possible shots fired.
Police spoke with several area residents who reported hearing two gun shots in the area.
Officers were unable to located evidence of a shooting.
As the investigation continued, officers said two victims reported three male subjects were in the area when one of them fired two shots from a handgun at them.
No injuries or damages were reported.
Police said the suspects were described as three African American teenage males, two wearing dark-colored hoodies and the third wearing a gray-colored hoodie.
Following the investigation, police said they do not believe this was a random act.

Rantoul Police Department was called to the 600 block of Bel Place Thursday afternoon.
As of 2:27 p.m., police were still on scene, interviewing area residents.
Police said the neighborhood is not considered dangerous and were surprised to receive the call in the middle of the day.
No evidence of shots fired in the area has yet been recovered.
Both Eastlawn and Northview Elementary Schools were on lockdown temporarily but will be released on schedule.
