One victim injured in stabbing on West Capitol Avenue
Officers were dispatched to the 1600 Block of West Capital for a stabbing. Upon arrival they located the male victim, age 18, laying in the road and the Juvenile suspect standing nearby.
The victim had multiple stab wounds to his back. At this time, the victim is out of surgery and is in stable condition.
His injuries are considered non-life threatening.
The suspect was taken into custody.
Springfield Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing around 7:40 p.m. at 1600 West Capitol Avenue and Feldkamp Avenue in Springfield.
Police said the weapon used was a knife, but they are unsure what kind.
All involved in the incident are in custody and one victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
The victim's condition is unknown and their identity has not yet been released.
Police said the incident is isolated and there is no longer an immediate threat.
The suspect(s) motive has not been determined.
