Police: Shots fired incident closes Ash Street, Lincoln Avenue for hours
Lt. Pickford, of the Springfield Police Department, said police responded to a domestic issue, where rounds were fired from a firearm.
As of 10 p.m., police did confirm the incident was a suicide and a body was found on scene.
Springfield Criminal Investigations assisted in the response.
Police said people residing in the neighborhood should not be worried, but no one is in custody at this time.
As of around 8:40 p.m. Thursday, a heavy police presence is reported on Ash Street and Lincoln Avenue.
Springfield Police Department is currently on scene.
The roadway is currently blocked off by police, as it is an active investigation.
