Gubernatorial candidate tackling immigration reform
The woman challenging Governor Bruce Rauner in the gubernatorial primary is tackling immigration reform.
Rep. Jeanne Ives is expected to hold a press conference Thursday to unveil a plan to repeal the Trust Act that Rauner signed.
The law protects immigrants who are in the country illegally from being detained solely because of their immigration status.
It was approved by lawmakers and the governor just months ago.
