URBANA, Ill. (WICS/WCCU) — A former teacher's assistant at Circle Academy is being accused of having a sexual relationship with a student earlier this year.
Allysa Gustafson, 23, is now being charged with one count of criminal sexual assault.
According to Director of Circle Academy, Ginger Mills, Gustafson worked at the academy between March 4th and September 4th, 2019.
According to the State's Attorney, messages regarding the relationship between Gustafson and a 14-year-old boy were found by authorities.
She also allegedly sent photos to the teen of herself in lingerie and a swimsuit.
Gustafson is due back in court on December 3rd.
She's also been ordered to have no contact with the teen.

She released the following statement which reads in part:
We are cooperating fully with this investigation and we are offering support to the student and family. At Cunningham, our highest priority will always be the well-being and safety of our students. In our schools, we strive to provide a supportive environment conducive to learning. We conduct extensive background checks on all of our employees and we have verified that all appropriate background checks were completed in this case.
