EMA making changes to weather warning sirens

The Illinois Emergency Management Agency will make changes when it comes to weather warning sirens.

The alarm will sound if Champaign County is under a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning, and if a trained spotter sees rotation in the clouds.

However, the EMA said it's still important to not rely on the sirens.

You should have other alert systems like a weather radio or weather app on your phone.
