Durbin demands stricter gun laws from Congress
As more alleged details about the Texas church shooting gunmen make headlines, many are calling for stricter gun laws.
Senator Dick Durbin, D-Illinois, took to the Senate floor Monday and called on Congress to finally act on regulations.
“Why does anyone need to own a military type style weapon?" Durbin asked. “One that can be converted like we saw in Las Vegas to a weapon that discharged 100 rounds in 7 seconds. That is totally unnecessary for any legitimate purpose.”
Durbin also said there needs to be more comprehensive background checks to keep guns out of the hands of those who misuse them.
