Donnie B's Comedy Club to stay open after anonymous loan
A local staple is here to stay after a generous donation helped keep its doors open.
Donnie B’s Comedy Club had originally closed over the weekend after not being able to make their goal of raising $30,000.
However, the owner of the comedy club said that all changed Monday morning after receiving a phone call with a donation that saved the club.
The business received a $20,000 donation and was told they could pay it back through fundraising.
While there is an additional $10,000 that must be raised as well, the owner is just excited to be reopening his doors.
“We are open Wednesday for business - food, everything. Some things may be limited but we are now open for a 20th season. I want to thank our landlord for his compassion and his patience,” Owner of Donnie B’s Comedy Club Donnie Bassford said.
The comedy club will be having their first show after reopening on Saturday.
