SPRINGFIELD (WICS/WRSP) — Concerns are rising around School Board Vice President Adam Lopez. Now, District 186 is taking action with a new forensic audit, involving the questionable Adam Lopez basketball tournament.
The superintendent said Monday she's going to get a forensic audit of the Adam Lopez tournament.
This audit is supposed to look into the tournament in further detail and is usually conducted in order to find any fraud or embezzlement.
"I'm going to do everything possible to prove that we have done everything possible to prove that there was no problems in the tournament in terms of large sums of money," Superintendent of District 186 Jennifer Gill said. "This has been a very tough week for all of us and we just hope to keep our eye on the prize and that's our students and the teachers and the parents that we serve."
Superintendent Gill said she will issue an RFP, which is a request for bid to the audit companies. Then the review will go to the school board, as early as the next meeting.
Adam Lopez was not at the meeting Monday, but as of Monday he is still on the board.
