Destructive winds take down barn

    A livestock barn was flattened due to strong winds Wednesday night just before 10 p.m.

    The barn is located at Glen Brown's Farm on Rt. 104 in Waverly.

    Brown, who is the Waverly Fire Chief, tells us two animals were injured during the ordeal. Two other barns were damaged as well.

    There were also reports of downed power lines and other barns damaged in the area.

    Wind Advisories and a High Wind Watch are in effect throughout mid-Illinois through Thursday.

    Locations such as Springfield, Jacksonville, and Lincoln can expect wind gusts between 40 and 50 mph throughout the day on Thursday. However, locations from Carlinville, Taylorville, Decatur, Champaign, Danville, and to the south and southeast can expect wind gusts up to 60 mph!
