Demo project prepares for Demolition
Demo Project held its farewell party where artists have displayed contemporary art for four and a half years.
Artists entered the project knowing the house that displayed their artwork would be demolished at some point.
The Springfield Art Association owns the house, and plans to expand and renovate their facilities while utilizing that area.
Co-director of the demo project, Jeff Robinson, said installed artwork will be demolished with the building.
“It certainly is sad we've loved the project,” said Robinson, “we've loved bringing art and bringing artists into the community. But at the same time, it was always the known mission the project couldn't be fully realized until it was demolished, so in that sense it's nice to see the realization for the project.
Demolition is set for later in January, but an exact date isn’t set.
