Decatur woman wants stricter DUI laws after drunk driver plows into her house
A Decatur woman is asking for stricter DUI laws after a drunk driver plowed into her home Sunday night, almost entering the room her and her 9-year-old daughter were sleeping in.
Amy DiLise said it’s a miracle they walked away without injury.
The driver took the front porch right off the house, shattering windows and cracking the drywall inside.
The driver was 47-year-old Timothy Kreher. Police said his blood-alcohol level was .335.
"I was very terrified and I thought God, it was a miracle that nobody was injured and I thought God was looking out for us,” DeLise said.
A sworn police statement shows that this is Kreher’s third DUI in less than 10 years.
DeLise said she’d like to see stricter DUI laws in place so another family doesn’t have to go through a similar situation.
