DECATUR, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — Decatur police is investigating an alleged shooting incident that occurred early Sunday.
Police said the victim of the incident claimed he was walking in the area of W. Decatur and South Crea Street at 3:30 a.m. when he was approached by a subject.
The victim said he took off running and the subject who approached him allegedly pulled a gun and fired one round at him.
Police said the victim sustained very minor abrasions on his left calf and right foot, which he claimed was a result of the shooting.
Officials said it's not clear whether the abrasions were caused by a bullet, bullet fragments or something else.
Police are still investigating the incident.
