DECATUR, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — A new report lists Decatur, Illinois as one of the fastest shrinking cities in the United States.
The U.S. Census Bureau report ranks the city of Decatur as the third-fastest shrinking city in the country.
Decatur's population fell by 7.1% between 2010 and 2019.
Its population was listed as 70,746.
Charleston, West Virginia came in first on the list of fastest-shrinking cities with a population loss of 9.4%.
Coming in second was Jackson, Mississippi with a population decline of 7.4%.
Another Illinois city to make the list was Rockford, Illinois.
Rockford came in at number 15 with a population loss of 5%.
