DECATUR, Ill. (WICS/WCCU) -- UPDATE:
As of around 8:23 p.m. Monday, fire officials said the flames have been extinguished.
The structure is a total loss, according to fire officials.
Crews were first dispatched to the scene around 6 p.m.
The fire chief said the structure was vacant and no injuries have been reported.
Officials also said the weather made it difficult to fight the flames.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Decatur fire crews are on scene of an active house fire near the intersection of Monroe and Wood Streets in Decatur, as of 7:20 p.m. Monday.
The roads are blocked as several fire trucks are still on scene putting out the flames.
No word yet on what happened or injuries.
