SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — UPDATE 6:50 AM: Crews were able to restore 286 customers in the outage near Washington Park--189 to go. Repair work will continue until all customers are restored.
ORIGINAL: City Water, Light and Power crews were working to get the power back for about 500 customers Friday morning.
The outages are south and east of Washington Park from approximately South Grand Avenue to Ash Street.
We're told a wire came down, causing this outage.
Another area includes 8 customers along West Hazel Dell Lane north of Hazel Dell school.
Crews are working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible to both of these areas.
