City takes action against neglected Springfield property
We have an update now to a story we first brought to you Tuesday on Newschannel 20 Midday.
The City of Springfield is now investigating complaints about a house with an overgrown backyard.
Footage of this home in the 2300 block of East Ramsey Road shows the shrubbery growing out of control.
Neighbors say the backyard has attracted animals and snakes to the area.
The City of Springfield Housing Division has cited the property previously.
The city was scheduled to mow the lawn at the owner’s expensive back in August but because of a boat blocking the area, they were unable to cut the lawn.
The matter has been turned over to the city's legal department who will be seeking a court order for the boat to be removed.
