Cat drag race helped raise money for pet adoption
The first ever Whiskers 500 Cat Drag Race took place Saturday.
The Meow Mobile and Sangamon County Animal Control came together to see which cat would cross the finish line first.
The fundraiser is to help with pet adoption and medical aid.
“It's important that the public knows that we're here and if they are trying to adopt a cat that the pound is actually a good option,” said president of Meow Mobile, Jill Gehrmann. “We're not euthanizing animals like they think we do any more.”
You can help these cats find a forever home or donate to the Meow Mobile.
Our own Rachel Pierson was the master of ceremonies.
