Borgic Farms make large pork donation to Central Illinois Foodbank
More than 5,000 pounds of pork will soon go out to central Illinois families.
The large donation of pork was made to the Central Illinois Foodbank from Borgic Farms Tuesday morning.
This is the 10th year for Borgic's Pork Power Program.
Phil Borgic, of Borgic Farms, said the company is happy to help local families get the most important part of their nutrition.
"Protein is an essential part of your daily diet. it's also the most expensive part of your diet. If we can help provide that for families, then we're excited to be a part of that," Borgic said.
For the past 10 years, Pork Power has donated more than 625,000 pounds of pork - enough for nearly 2.4 million meals.
