Bank of Springfield Center getting added layer of security
An added layer of security's coming to the Bank of Springfield Center in Springfield.
Around the beginning of next year, eight metal detectors will be installed and used during large events and concerts.
Some think the metal detectors will attract more concertgoers, because of the added layer of protection.
"I think it'd be a smoother transition than having to use the wand,” Jacksonville resident Matthew Murray said. “You'd get people coming in through there a lot quicker. And, you know, if someone's going to bring in something dangerous, that metal detector's going to go off. So, it's probably a good decision."
The metal detectors are expected to cost around $30,000.
