A bill to strengthen drunk driving laws passes the house

A bill to strengthen Illinois’ drunk driving laws has passed the House.

Right now, judges can rescind the automatic driving suspension imposed by White's office after someone is arrested for a D.U.I. without a reason, and the suspension is taken off the driver's record.

Under the new bill, the Secretary of State's Office can refuse the rescission until judges explain the reasoning behind it.

The bill is backed by Secretary of State Jesse White.
