70-year-old man dies after Springfield attack

Three additional counts of first-degree murder have been filed against Andrew Brady. All three counts are first-degree murder alleging Brady struck Albert Cole with a motor vehicle.


The Sangamon County Coroner tells us 70-year-old Albert Cole of Springfield, who was attacked on Tuesday afternoon, has died.

After being attacked, the elderly man was left in the street near Melrose and 12th Street.

Springfield police arrested the man suspected of attacking the 70-year-old, 27-year-old Andrew Brady, in Decatur Tuesday night.

The suspect, Andrew Brady, will also be charged Thursday with first-degree murder by the Sangamon County State’s Attorney’s Office.
