SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS) — A bill that would extend the availability of taxpayer-subsidized abortions to state workers and Medicaid recipients still has not been sent to Governor Bruce Rauner's desk.
Lawmakers approved the legislation back in May.
It also prevents Illinois from banning abortions in the event that Roe v. Wade was to be overturned by the US Supreme Court.
Democrats and Abortion Rights Activists say they won't send the bill to Rauner unless he says he will sign it.
He has said in the past that he would veto the bill.
