Universal Pictures released a trailer Tuesday for "Kindergarten Cop 2," a sequel to the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger action-comedy.

Fans hoping for a resolution to any plot threads left dangling by the original may be disappointed, however, to learn that the direct-to-DVD sequel, which Universal described as a "reimagined" version of the concept, features an entirely new set of characters.

In case you've forgotten, here is a memorable moment from the original.

Schwarzenegger's fellow 1980s action movie icon Dolph Lundgren now stars as an FBI agent who must go undercover as a kindergarten teacher in an effort to recover stolen data.

The trailer shows Lundgren's character struggle with controlling a classroom full of unruly children and modern liberal political correctness.

Bill Bellamy co-stars as Lundgren's partner. The film, directed by Don Michael Paul, will be released on DVD on May 17.

"We shot a lot of action scenes, so I get a chance to carry a gun and be an FBI agent, so that part was fun," Bellamy said in a recent interview.

Twitter users were not impressed by the sequel's trailer.
