New Study Shows Binge Drinking Increase in Older Americans
Binge drinking seems to be increasing in older Americans.
A new study shows men and women over the age of 60 say they have consumed five or more alcoholic beverages in a single day in the past year.
That's according to the Journal, Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research.
Researchers says they have seen a steady increase in older adults drinking over the past 20 years.
Doctors say as people age, their body has to work harder to process alcohol, weakening the body, making it more difficult to control diseases, benefiting from medications and getting a good night's rest.
