Finding hope through the heartache of child loss

Finding hope through the heartache of child loss.

It’s a topic that many people don’t talk about.

The loss of a child sometimes makes people uncomfortable. But according to research, one in four couples experience a loss, whether through miscarriage, stillbirth or infant loss.

In honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, we’re sharing an inspirational story of finding hope through the heartache. Mitch Parrish and Amanda Mavis are high school sweethearts. They were eager to start a family after getting married, but bringing home a baby was a milestone that didn’t come easily.

Their first baby, Ari, was born still. A few months later, the couple was pregnant again. But, at 27 weeks gestation, baby Aria passed away in the womb.

But, the couple didn’t give up hope. The emotional journey recently led them to their adopted baby girl, Zuri.

And while Amanda and Mitch will always grieve their losses, baby Zuri will grow up knowing she has two guardian angels watching over her from above.
